Lemon and Sugar Crepes

Night out at stokers with our closest friends. Perfect way to end the night.
Roast Tomato & Mint Soup
Today, I made roast tomato and mint soup and tuna, avocado rocket salad for dinner. I got the soup recipe from Donna Hay’s cookbook. I’m very proud of the rabbit for going through dinner; without any grumbling for pork or chicken or lamb. He ate his soup with bread and ate his salad. *Claps* The recipe said it served four but after I was done; I could serve at least 10 people! Or maybe it’s just us as we’re more used to drinking clear soup in Chinese dinners so we didn’t take much of this sort of thick and textured soup. It was quite healthy because for everything was made from scratch.
Here are some pictures! Yes, I’m becoming quite the little grandma. I really do enjoy trying new recipes these days!

We had to use our small little food processor so we had to blend the tomatoes in rounds. The next time I’m making this soup, I’m going to only use 1/2 the recipe!
My Night with Lists
Recently, I’ve been trying to vary our meals. Usually, I cook spaghetti and of course, the everyday Chinese dinner meal. But, I think it’s time to really have variations in meals. I’m not sure if it’s entirely for health reasons but it might be good to cut meat out, maybe once or twice a week. Even though we don’t eat a lot of red meat but it’s just a phase I’m going through. Hah. Lucky for me, the rabbit has agreed to go vegetarian once in a while. Some men just can’t let go of their meat! I have a friend who just adores beef ( we don’t eat beef at home either; due to religious reasons ) and he will say “how can!?” if he finds out I’m cutting meat out of the rabbit’s meal ( only sometimes! ).
Right, I’m sidetracking. So, last night; I was just going through all my recipe books to organize the new meals and to send it in for approval. I was just scribbling in my notebook; where I actually write about my ideas for shoots. I really should keep one book just for photography – keep it more…”sacred”?? -_-”
When I say scribble, I mean scribble.
Tonight, while the rabbit was watching Dexter outside, I decided to make some lists! I just created some lines and typed “grocery list” and “menu” on top of the lists and printed them out. I cut them out into separate pieces and drew some … *cough* erm, stuff on top of them. I used to love drawing mini stuff of everything ( I had a particular obsession in drawing McDonald’s whole McValue meals ). I think I need to practice again. The lists will go on the fridge ( recently, I “revamped” our fridge with pics of us and our friends – yes, I’m quite bored and free ).
Testing the lists out.
This is such a nerdy post. I should be out partying and drinking during the hols; not doing…this! I was doing all of this while drinking tea ( tea?! tea?! It should be beer! ). And I’m also planning walks in parks with our closest friends ( what is happening to me?!! ). Is this another apparent sign of growing older?!! Or morphing into a…yoga-loving, wheatgrass drinking woman?! Wait, I used to do yoga and drink wheatgrass…so technically, I’m becoming my younger self??
Dali ‘Liquid Desire’
Today, we went to the Salvador Dali ‘Liquid Desire’ exhibition at the NGV. Since it was a Wednesday and we went after 4pm AND we were full time students, we only had to pay $11. I was wondering if they only had one room full of Dali’s work but I was so wrong! They had more than 5 rooms, I think and it starts off with Dali’s earliest work from the age of 15. It slowly progresses and you can see Dali’s work progressing and his style developing.

No cameras were allowed so I didn’t manage to take any photos. But if you are in Melbourne at the moment, you must go to see this show. Dali is truly a master. He even collaborated with Walt Disney on a short film called “Destino”. It was continued and released only in 2003. You can watch the short clip below:
“Destino”
We spent almost two and a half hours looking at his work and reading up about it. There were sketches, figure studies, paintings, photography ( that involved Dali ), short films, jewelry ( yes, the man even designed jewelry ) and sculptures. Really, there was so much to see!
The entrance of NGV.
The left side of NGV. ( Dali is handsome! Another portrait in a much bigger piece of painting; which is showcased in the last room)
The right side of NGV. That was a portrait of Dali he did of himself in his younger days.
Collectibles.
And I couldn’t resist buying a melting clock ( it symbolizes the fluidity of time ).
Well, I think it was definitely worth going. There’s nothing like looking at Dali’s brush/ pen/ paint strokes up close! We’re also thinking of going for some talks by some professors or doctors about Dali’s work. Isn’t this man just a source of inspiration?
Wonderful Cups of Tea

I’ve really been into tea these days. I suppose it’s the cold winter days. Yes, I clip my hair up just like an old lady when I’m home. My hair’s been getting long ( which is fantastic as it takes forever to grow ).

I can’t wait to experiment with more tea flavours! I love buying tea from T2. Everything is so well organized and the colors are so vibrant.
